A Lifetime in Automotive

Seamus’ career in the automotive industry began in 1985 when he started his apprenticeship at Berwick Nissan. He later moved to Cheltenham Nissan with the dealership owner, where he worked in pre-delivery before quickly progressing to become Service Manager at just 18 years of age.

In 1991, Seamus returned to Berwick as Service Manager at Garry Lechte Toyota. At the time, the business was in receivership and facing challenging circumstances. Under Seamus’ leadership of the service department, the business turned things around, culminating in Seamus receiving a Toyota Service Excellence Award in 1994.

In 1995, Seamus joined Toyota Motor Corporation as a District Service Manager, supporting Toyota dealers throughout Victoria and Tasmania. This experience gave him valuable insight into dealership standards, customer service and the importance of quality workmanship.

From Family Roots to a Local Automotive Business

In 1996, Seamus took the next step and established his own automotive business on Princes Highway.

The location held special significance for Seamus and his family, as it was built on what had once been his grandparents’ front yard when the surrounding area was still farmland. Seamus’ family has deep roots in the local area, dating back to 1850.

What started as a small local business continued to grow through a strong focus on quality repairs, honest service and customer relationships. As demand increased, Seamus Hill Automotive moved to its current factory location in 2001, where we continue to service customers today.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Recently had work done by Seamus, worked on the van and sorted known issues and even went above and beyond to fix a door issue that couldn't be resolved for some time. Got the part, fixed the issue as part of the overall service. Couldn't be happier with the work completed.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely fantastic experience! Seamus did a roadworthy on my car quickly and professionally, and even went above and beyond by letting me keep the car at his workshop while I was in the process of selling it. Super helpful, honest, and easy to deal with. Highly recommend to anyone needing a trustworthy mechanic—I’ll definitely be coming back in the future!
